Definisi ALAM
ALAM merupakan satu inisiatif peringkat kebangsaan yang dicetuskan oleh Kementerian Kewangan Malaysia dan diterajui oleh Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad, dengan visi untuk merubah minda dan sikap rakyat Malaysia terhadap alam sekitar. Seperti yang terkandung dalam Rancangan Malaysia Ke-12, ALAM berhasrat untuk memupuk kesedaran, mendidik dan menyemai budaya menyampaikan maklumat berkenaan alam sekitar dengan kerjasama antara sektor awam dan swasta serta masyarakat setempat. ALAM juga menyokong pelaksanaan dasar untuk tadbir urus yang lebih baik dan menghubungkan penggubal dasar dan pihak berkepentingan.

π± Setiu, we planted something special.
On 25 July, 300 volunteers, including school and university students, partners and community members, came together in Setiu, Terengganu, for ALAM Be Leaf 2026 in conjunction with World Mangroves Day.
Together, we planted and seeded 1,000 mangrove trees, one by one, with many hands and a shared hope to see this beautiful natural ecosystem continue to thrive. πΏ
What made the day even more meaningful was seeing different groups come together with a shared purpose: to learn, contribute and give something back to nature.
A big thank you to our partners Yayasan Petronas, @mufgbk_official, BPMB Group, @setiuwetlanddiscovery, @kbsmalaysia, @jpsmofficial and @nresmalaysia for making this effort possible.

π± ALAM Be-Leaf #3 | Growing Forests, Growing Futures
On 4 July 2026, ALAM Be-Leaf #3 brought together 300 participants at Hutan Simpan Pensiangan, Sabah in a collective effort to nurture and restore our natural ecosystems. π³
The programme was officiated by YB Datoβ Sri @arthurjkurup, Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES), reaffirming the importance of collective action in protecting Malaysiaβs forests for generations to come.
Every tree planted is a step towards a greener, more resilient future. πΏπ

At ALAM, we believe that meaningful environmental action starts by empowering young people to become stewards of nature and active volunteers in their communities. Through partnerships and youth-focused initiatives, we create opportunities for young people to learn, participate and take action for the environment.
πΈ This photo captures ALAM alongside the Minister of Youth and Sports YB Dr @taufiqjohari and youth participants during Rakan Bumi: Projek Planet Rakan Muda Peringkat Kebangsaan, held on 18 April 2026 at Pulau Redang. The programme brought together over 300 youth from Terengganu to participate in environmental activities, including tree and mangrove planting.

Bringing the world together to help elephants. Elephants are ecosystem engineers, helping shape forests, disperse seeds and support biodiversity. Protecting elephants means protecting the habitats and ecosystems we all depend on. πΏ
π‘ Fun fact: Elephants communicate using low-frequency sounds called infrasound, which can travel several kilometres and are beyond the range of human hearing!
